AVES Reality, the company turning satellite and aerial data into AI-generated maps and 3D digital twin worlds, has raised an oversubscribed €2.7 million seed round to accelerate product development and market extension. The round was led by Matterwave Ventures with participation from new investors XISTA Science Ventures, xdeck, and Lightfield Equity, plus continued support from existing shareholders Bayern Kapital and Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds (FTTF).

AVES Reality builds AI models and advanced computer graphic algorithms that automatically reconstruct the world in 3D — from entire cities down to road networks and street junctions. These digital twins are not just pixels put into 3D shapes but procedural reconstructions backed with physical and semantic information built on geospatial AI analytics of satellite data. These resulting 3D digital twins allow AVES’s customers to simulate and train the next generation of autonomous systems in a scalable, deterministic digital environment before they operate in the real world. AVES Reality therefore provides a crucial missing piece to their customers: an accurate representation of the real world that autonomous systems and physical AI can reliably learn and be validated in.

A base-layer technology for physical AI and next-gen world foundation models

AVES Reality builds the foundational layer for the next generation of autonomy and physical AI.

Florian Albert, co-founder and CEO of AVES Reality explains:

“The company’s technology automatically transforms raw satellite and aerial data into accurate, physics-aware 3D digital twins — a capability that unlocks simulation, training, and world understanding at global scale. As next-generation physical AI systems will increasingly navigate, reason about, and interact with the real world, the ability to generate rich, deterministic digital training environments becomes a critical enabler for entire industries.”

AVES Reality’s platform is already demonstrating this impact. The company works with major automotive OEMs to provide simulation-ready environments and maps for the virtual validation of autonomous vehicles, addressing one of the automotive industry’s biggest unsolved challenges. For years, autonomous mobility has been held back by the gap between limited real-world testing and the enormous data volumes required to prove safety. Virtual validation — using physics-correct, semantically consistent digital twins —is now becoming the decisive step to finally bring autonomous vehicles from long- promised prototypes to dependable real-life deployment. Deterministic simulation enables a virtual vehicle roll-out in new operational areas long before physical deployment. This not only is multiple times more cost efficient but also allows for risk- free testing of edge cases in dedicated operational areas earlier in the process, and with a level of repeatability impossible in the physical world. AVES Reality’s platform, the AVES Launcher, enables their customers to generate simulation-ready maps of any desired operational area in minutes instead of months.

At the same time, AVES Reality is working with NVIDIA to implement one of the world’s first reference workflow to provide high-fidelity synthetic environments to fine-tune vision language models (VLMs) like NVIDIA Cosmos Reason. These new AI architectures rely on vast amounts of structured, physics-grounded data, including not just images, but complete simulations of how objects behave, move, collide and interact. One of the first applications is being used for deploying intelligent AI agents for automating traffic management, leveraging NVIDIA Blueprint for smart city AI as a framework for city-scale solutions.

AVES Reality has demonstrated real world benefits together with partners for the Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung. There it was clearly showcased, the current shift and advancement towards physical AI requires virtual environments to collect synthetic training data which obey real-world constraints, and AVES Reality with their 3D digital twins delivers exactly that: scalable, mathematically consistent, richly annotated worlds that models can learn from.

Benedikt Kronberger, Partner at Matterwave Ventures confirms:

“These promising early use cases explain why this round was oversubscribed with substantial investor interest in the company. AVES Reality’s technology sits at the intersection of space data, geospatial AI, autonomy, simulation, and world modeling. These are sectors that are now entering a period of rapid adoption as machines transition from narrow automation to general physical intelligence.”
